The Rochester Boys & Girls Club:
Honors Choirs provides twice weekly classes at the Rochester Boys & Girls Club titled “Discovering Music with Honors Choirs.” Taught by an Honors Choirs Music Instructor, the classes offer members of the club fun experiences with music! Using a variety of materials including Orff percussion instruments and recorders, young people get vocal training, opportunities for performance (vocal and instrumental), learn music history and theory, and get an overview of world music. This program is at no cost to the participants or to the Boys & Girls Club. For further information, click here: Boys & Girls Club-Arts.
Outreach Beyond the Region:
In addition, our choirs look for opportunities to perform at choir festivals and conferences. Ensembles have sung for both regional and national conventions of Chorus America, the American Choral Directors Association, and choral festivals in Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Oregon, British Columbia, Newfoundland, and Great Britain. The Concert Choir has also toured internationally in Austria, the Czech Republic, France, the Netherlands, and Italy.
